Leo’s was first opened in 1948 by italian immigrants Pantaleone (Leo) Mancieri and his wife Virginia (Gina). Established mainly as a pizzeria in the State Street section of Bristol, RI, the restaurant quickly gained a local following and became a popular eatery. In the years after World War II, Leo’s served as a popular destination for workers and families alike. Leo and Gina, along with sons Mario and Reno, worked tirelessly to produce great fresh Italian favorites and create a friendly environment for their customers.
The original Leo’s remained open until 1976 when the family decided to close after Leo passed away. In the year 2000 Leo’s grandson, Paul Mancieri, along with his father Mario relocated to 365 Hope Street in historic downtown Bristol, right on the parade route. Over 20 years in, Paul and his wife Adriana pride themselves on bringing back the spirit and the recipes of the pizzeria ran by Leo and Gina.
Welcome to Leo’s Ristorante! Enjoy our family recipes, preserved for three generations and served with care and love by Paul, Adriana and their staff.
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, Adriana joined Leo’s Ristorante in 2014 after marrying Paul. A Biologist with a Master’s degree in Marketing Management and 15 years of corporate experience in top-ranked global companies like Procter & Gamble, Nestle Purina PetCare and Bimbo Bakeries, Adriana brought a new vision into the business.
During the week she dedicates most of her time to manage the administrative part of the business and on the weekends she enjoys being the hostess and caring for customers. Adriana also takes pride in developing recipes for some of Leo’s specialty cocktails and baking the occasional dessert.
